Since 1965, UTCA has been the leading voice for New Jersey’s utility and transportation construction industry in Trenton and Washington, DC.
State House Capitol Building, Trenton
Through its fierce advocacy for our membership, UTCA stands alone in its record of achievement for the infrastructure construction industry.
A constant presence in the State House, the Government Affairs team often provides expert testimony before lawmakers and maintains valuable relationships with the elected officials and policymakers that shape the state’s laws and policies.
UTCA also plays an active role in the regulatory process, weighing in on rules that affect the industry and engaging with the Governor’s Office and key Administration officials, including the Departments of Environmental Protection and Labor, and the Board of Public Utilities, as well as various governmental authorities.
Through its efforts, UTCA has successfully challenged a host of initiatives that would have negatively impacted the infrastructure construction industry and championed measures that have strengthened the industry, such as securing additional funding for infrastructure projects and improving the climate for contractors.
The Government Affairs team collaborates with a host of industry partners, including labor unions, related associations and government affairs professionals, to bolster our ability to influence policy.
