     January 21, 2023
     7:30 am - 12:00 pm

UTCA has scheduled a Saturday morning Training on January 21st for your field personnel regarding OSHA’s Confined Space Standard.

On May 1, 2015, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued the new Confined Space in Construction standards. OSHA has included the new subpart to 29 CFR Part 1926, to the Construction Standards providing added protection for employees working in confined spaces (such as manholes, crawl spaces, and tanks) facing life-threatening hazards including toxic substances, electrocutions, explosions, and asphyxiation.

This course presents an overview of the hazards involved within confined spaces, and how to maximize safety for you and those around you. It also aims to provide confined spaces employees with an understanding of hazardous conditions, what constitutes a competent person, and acceptable safe working conditions. While every worker within a confined space should be a competent person, this course is geared toward entrants and attendants.

Training and awareness in OSHA’s Confined Space in Construction standard is mandatory for any person entering a confined space. All new standards rules will be covered at the seminar as well as all the required items that have been part of General Standard for Confined Space entry. The registration fee for this seminar is $100.00 per person. Those who complete the seminar will receive a wallet-sized certificate of attendance for their use. This certificate serves as evidence of the training on the new standard “Confined Space in Construction” with OSHA. The seminar will include a continental breakfast.
